At Pyrford we believe Science is a subject that should be rooted in experiential, hands on learning. These practical activities and investigations are a key element when helping children to understand the complex and abstract Scientific concepts being studied. The learning of Science is a vital element of helping children to understand themselves and the world around them. The Scientific enquiry skills are developed from the Early Years and culminate with the Upper Juniors who plan their own investigations. We believe we need to create inquisitive, open-minded Scientists in our children, who are willing to tackle any problem. The solution to many problems, like Climate Change, will be in the hands of the children we are teaching!
