Our Golden Book Winners

N SQUIRRELS - Rudy & Theo We love writing and drawing in nursery. Rudy and Theo are often busy exploring the different resources to create their pictures. They’re also becoming confident in talking about what they’ve made. Well done!

R BEECH - Aafiyah who has impressed Mrs Murray so much over the last few weeks with her knowledge of her own faith and her thoughtful contributions during our RE lessons. She helped all the children learn about Eid and her special place of worship (The Mosque), whilst always being respectful of others’ faiths. Thanks for being a fantastic teacher Aafiyah!

R HAZEL - Rex who has wowed us with his writing recently. He’s using all the phonics skills to carefully listen for each sound and thinking about how to form the letters correctly. Well done Rex!

1 OAK - Ted who has been a lion expert this past few weeks. He has been able to tell us the facts that he has learnt about lions and has done some wonderful drawings and lots of writing. The class are super proud of you Ted - keep on telling us all about your learning.

1 PINE - William for his fantastic non-chronological report on lions. He used his knowledge from our English and Science lessons to write about what lions are, where they live, what they eat and even included a ‘did you know’ fact. Well done William!

2 CEDAR - Sophia for writing a fabulous story using brilliant description. Well done!

2 HAWTHORN - Nathaniel He enjoyed our Science lesson where we’re finding out what plants need to grow healthily. He participated well in our discussions. His bean is growing because he’s giving it water, air, soil and sunlight. Well done Nathaniel!

3 ELM - Chloe Drawing on her understanding of mixing tertiary colours and inspired by the artist Maria Merian, Chloe produced this beautiful painting showing some of the different stages of the life cycle of a tomato plant. Wonderful work Chloe!

3 MAPLE - Lily who worked hard to publish her explanation text How the Stars Came to Be in her best handwriting. She used some of the joins we have learnt this year in her writing. Well done Lily.

YEAR 4 - Everyone At Hindleap Warren they were all very well behaved and worked brilliantly together as a team, helping and encouraging one another during activities. It was wonderful to see their positive attitudes, good listening and willingness to try new things. They should be very proud of themselves, as they represented the school in such a fantastic way. The children in school were also amazing. They worked excellently together whilst showing so much kindness and having lots of fun.

5 ROWAN - Everyone They should all be extremely proud of themselves for their fantastic behaviour and enthusiasm during their recent visit to the Royal Grammar School to learn about the Tudors. They showed excellent listening skills, asked thoughtful questions and demonstrated a real interest in Tudor life and history throughout the day. Staff at RGS commented on how polite, respectful and engaged the children were, making Rowan Class wonderful ambassadors for our school. Well done Rowan Class!

5 WILLOW - Rupert Congratulations to him on producing a brilliant discussion text focussed on our class book Treason. He showed a great understanding of the book, exploring ideas clearly and thoughtfully. He also demonstrated strong effort in the way he edited his work, showing care and attention to detail. Well done Rupert - this is an excellent piece of work!

6 ASPEN -  Simon for his information page about the history of football in the 20th century. Well done for including a lot of information on his page and for making it look attractive and well presented.

6 HOLLY - James for writing an excellent persuasive text about the Super Spy Watch he invented. He engaged the reader well, gave a great description of the features of his watch in a good variety of sentence styles and using a range of punctuation, showing his command of grammar. He used an engaging, chatty tone which has persuaded Mrs Bull to buy one! Very well done James.

6 LAUREL - Florence Congratulations to her for writing a fantastic persuasive text on her chosen spy gadget from our class book Stormbreaker. She worked hard on including persuasive language in her writing, as well as using sub-headings effectively. Well done Florence - keep up the great writing!
