Our Golden Book Winners

Congratulations to our Golden Book winners
N SQUIRRELS - Alayna & Alice Last week we read the story Owl Babies. We began by sharing what we already knew about owls and then explored some new and interesting facts. Alayna and Alice used the resources to create their own wonderful owl pictures. Well done girls!
R BEECH - Blayke for trying extra hard in her writing. We wrote about celebrations we have had. She listened carefully for all the sounds and tried to form her letters correctly too. Well done Blayke, keep up the good work!
R HAZEL - Mabel for working very hard on her Maths task. She was able to show all the pairs of cubes that make 5 and write down the number of cubes that had been coloured. She was very proud to show Mrs Freeman her work. We are very proud of her!
1 OAK - Elsie In English we have been using text maps to help us learn more facts about penguins, inspired by our text The Emperor’s Egg. Miss Daly loves how enthusiastic Elsie has been about discovering what penguins are like and where they live. In her writing, Elsie has accurately used and capitalised proper nouns to show that penguins live in Antarctica. She always tries her best in everything she does and her writing is no exception. Well done Elsie!
1 PINE - Albie for his fantastic efforts in Music. In Year 1 we have been learning to keep the beat to music with different tempos and used the djembes (African drums) for the first time. Albie was calm and respectful while waiting for his turn and kept perfectly to the beat. Well done Albie!
2 CEDAR - Livai We have been learning about 2D shapes. Livai made 2D shapes using the geoboards and described their properties using the correct terminology.
2 HAWTHORN - Alex for showing fantastic knowledge in our History lessons where he remembered many facts about The Great Fire of London. He pretended he was Samuel Pepys and wrote his diary. Well done Alex!

Super work Jack, well done!

6 ASPEN - Mia for her wonderful Christmas artwork. She took such great care over her work. Mrs Brockway loves the way she blended the colours, as well as how she used lighter shades to show the light reflecting off the baubles. Her use of pastels added great texture to her work too. What an eye-catching picture!
6 HOLLY - Hattie We carried out some interesting experiments in Science when we investigated what refraction is. Hattie wrote up a super explanation of what she thought would happen when we put a straw in a glass of water. She wrote up her results and conclusion, showing her understanding. Mrs Bull loves her diagrams which explain refraction. A super piece of work. Well done Hattie!
